My research is situated at the intersection of emotion, design, and technology. I explore the role of User Experience (UX) design in mediating relationships and shaping subjectivity, particularly in the contexts of robotics and screen-based interactions.
I’m a lecturer in Media Studies at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
My research crosses the disciplines of media, design, and emotion. I’m increasingly interested in the role of technology design in mediating and managing affective states and intersubjective relationships.
I teach courses on posthumanism; media, health and wellbeing; and mass culture.
I live on the south coast of Wellington with my husband, our two kids, and our border collie, Poppy.
